This watercolor has been sitting on my desk being picked at for a while now. Perhaps since February, actually... I can't even remember now! At last it has come to the point where I can pick no more, and so I am releasing it into the world. Forcing myself to do backgrounds as detailed as the figures, which I still struggle with. If anyone has the secret to painting good looking grass, please share.
On a misty morning, the Writers sit in the woods, about to begin their stories. What do they write? Everything, every whisper of the wind, every rustle of the leaves. It all has a story, and they are the writers. The faerie is an apprentice, and I have a feeling that she doesn't always write what she's supposed to. She just doesn't look like the well behaved sort of faerie. Her teacher, fortunately, is of the earth and very forgiving.
